The photogravures in Nature Studies in Berkshire are particularly interesting for their skies with clouds which until the late 1800’s had to be added separately thorough combination printing or actual etching on the plate. By 1884 orthochromatic photographic emulsions were used to making negatives more sensitive to the full color spectrum of the scene.
