Gaston Braun, son of Adolphe Braun (1812-1877), took over from the photographic agency of his father, Adolphe Braun & Co., founded in 1876. With the help of his father-Louis Pierson and his brother Leon Clement, he revived the bankrupt company which takes the name of Braun, Clement & Co. from 1889 to 1910, when the company becomes Braun and Co.
