Lichtstudie Bakhuis, Joh. A.

Is Fotographie Kunst? is a portfolio of 12 well crafted hand-pulled photogravures from photographs by Dutch photographers. The portfolio, issued in 1904 by Laurens Hansma, is accompanied by a title sheet and contents page listing twelve photographers and titles of the works. The portfolio is identified as from a series entitled Fotografische Bibliotheek No. 20. It appears to be the second photogravure portfolio in the series (of five?) as the title page states Tweede Serie Van Twaalf Heliogravures naar Fotografieën (Second Series Of Twelve Heliogravures after Photographs.)

The publisher, Lauren Hansma (1860-1920), was an amateur photographer and Pictorialist.

Not much else is know about this work. Any information is welcome.
